Halloween Make-up Ideas
Posted by admin
Proper utilization of creative Halloween costume make-up helps you to achieve the look which is realistic and that creep out friends as well as family. While it’s true spooky costumes, treats, games, and parties, are the rules and regulations on Halloween party. But when it comes to your costume this Halloween, don’t give in to the urge for buying yet another hot and uncomfortable Halloween mask. Not only it looks fake, but also makes you feel uncomfortably in all evenings as well. Here are some great Halloween costume tips for using makeup for achieving a life-like Halloween appearance in the coming year.
Age yourself to perfection
Do u wish to know how you’ll look like in the next 40 years? Try applying liquid latex wrinkles to your face so that you can get the latex at any halloween costume store, and applying it for the preferred effect that couldn’t be achieved easier:
- Puff up your cheeks and be relevant by applying a thin coat of liquid latex with a small sponge.
- Keep your eyes tightly shut and apply some latex to the lower corners of your eyes.
- Once the latex is dry, releases the air from your cheeks and makes yourself ready and apply a coat of foundation makeup and you can also add some food coloring to the makeup to create a skin tone in your choice of colors.
The latex will make the look of your eyes droopier and saggy and your skin will be crumpled to perfection. Now you can do up from here and additional makeup effects as needed. Here’s also a great trick for adding up a hairy wart to your face. Put a drop of false eyelash glue onto a peppercorn and apply it on your face. Then just glue a few strands from a paintbrush and so you will be the proud owner of a very ugly wart! Just be sure not to put it very close to your eyes or you’l also be the proud owner of swollen and painful eyeballs that may look great but wonât leave you feeling all that well.
Become the Zombie Bride with the Right Make-Up
The zombie bride is an easily achieved effect if the instant idea aging doesn’t demand to you. Other than wearing a dirty and tattered white dress, all you have to do is paint your face and lips white, using theatrical greasepaint, and apply thick black rings around your eyes. Now gel your hair up and run your fingers for generating the worst “bad hair day” you’ve ever had.
Or the Zombie Groom
You can be a zombie groom only if you’re a man. The makeup process is the identical and the look is also great. Consider if youâd rather be a deranged doctor/nurse. Just get a hold of a pair of hospital scrubs and sprinkle your face, hair, and clothing as well with fake blood along. You can also find a good recipe for fake blood in our Halloweenfantasy.com and is an easy effect for attaining the precise output.
The outfit creates a “toga party” looks. Then just paint your face in green, accentuate your eyes with gold, and throw a few rubber snakes in your hair together with it so that you can be seen beautiful and scary at the same time! Whatever you decide to “become” this year will necessitate creativity easily. Put on your costume for letting your thoughts run wild after applying your Halloween makeup. Whilst you decide to drink or eat something in the evening time, definitely you should be thankful, as you didn’t wear a Halloween mask. Also remember Halloween festival is nothing but all about having fun!

New Comedy and Satire Book Really Sticks it to The Washington Post!
The Washington Toast is the funniest thing to come out of Washington Since Congress.
The Washington Toast, a humor and political satire book, makes its official debut today on December 11, 2007. If you haven’t been clued in to what the Toast does, it is a dead-on, straight faced parody of American newspapers. It is beautifully crude and sophomoric in a manner Mad magazine no longer aspires to, and for readers looking for some deathly funny satire in this politically-correct, can’t-we-all-just-get-along, sissified age, it is a lighthouse in a stormy sea.
For those of us who have long desired a good dose of wry and winsome humor The Washington Toast, is a treasure trove of biting satire and clever use of modern language. Somehow the writers manage to tickle our funny bones as they educate and entertain us with their insight and insider’s understanding of the madness we know as politics. In this provocative web site, the writers most often approach the subject at hand via parody. They are almost monotonously brilliant, nearly uniformly informative, and best of all, universally irreverent. This is one web site which might force you to bring your lap top to the rest room folks, for it will have you enjoying life’s most personal moments with tears of laughter as the unavoidable net result.
The editors and writers at the Washington Toast, will routinely attack the most sacred shibboleths and taboos of society, ranging from oil derricks erected on the White House lawn to a sagging Washington monument. From sexism to congressional hearings on defective home surgery kits, and from politics to the dangers of traveling to Atlantic City on a steeply discounted tourist bus. To be sure, the humor that results is by its very nature often tasteless and even a little but crude, so if you have a delicate stomach or a fragile disposition this collection of satiric pieces may not be something you would enjoy. But those of us with a taste for such bawdy fare will read the pieces again and again, until our eyeâs bleed and our lap tops begin to smoke. All in all, itâs nice to have all this stuff online and available for instant replay. Enjoy!

Anyone Wanna Buy a System?
Posted by admin
So I got me a little snifter here. Jackâs been working his way through some freebies â a new supplierâs trying to break into supplying the casino. Reckons he needs to make sure all the right people get their taste of the good stuff and weâre both of us out to oblige him. Damn, but some of this stuff is good! Makes me wanna give up the poker and the slot machines, and settle down with a bottle or two to enjoy my retirement. Anyways, the young fellah just called. Caught me in a mellow mood for once. He thinks â well, we can suspend judgement on that for so long as he keeps paying me â he thinks I should explain myself. In one piece Iâm saying thereâs, âa proper mathematical playing strategy for video poker.â In the next, Iâm saying thereâs a gamblerâs fallacy and you canât predict the cards. He thinks they doesnât fit right together. So hereâs a few words to make it all crystal. Did you ever see Oceanâs 11 â donât matter whether it was the original Rat Pack version or the new ones with George Clooney and his pals? Did you notice how they always robbed the casinos. There was never a hint of walking through the door with a system for winning at the tables or on the slot machines. Hollywood got it right for once. The only way you guarantee a big score at a casino is as a thief â and youâve to be lucky to enjoy your âtakingsâ and avoid the hail of bullets if you get caught by wrong people. Look around online. Youâll see a small army of people touting their systems for beating all casino games with a house advantage. Play slot machines, win big. Win at blackjack without counting. When I was growing up, my mother used to play 78s all the time. She loved the musicals of the 1920s. Sheâd never been on the chorus line, but sheâd a hankering for it. Her parents disapproved of theatrical folk and that was an end of that. Anyways, one of my favorites was Banana Oil â kinda like snake oil but always applied to lounge-lizard lines. âWhen he tells you, âI adore you,â that’s banana oil.â In other words, everything he said to get his mark into bed was bullshit. Well, the same goes for all these salesmen pushing betting systems for slot machines. Theyâre trying to scam you outa your money. Take it from me. There ainât no system around that even dents the House edge on games where the probabilities are set in the Houseâs favor. Math is math. Mind you. Itâs not my money â you wanna fool yourself you can shade the odds in your favor on video poker, then feel free. So, how do these systems work? Youâre supposed to base your bets on the most recent outcomes. Take roulette as an example. Wait for a run of blacks, then bet on red â the longer the run, the bigger the bets on red. If you see a pattern emerging, youâre supposed to think that the probabilities of the game itself have changed. When I worked for casinos, we always nodded wisely when someone cautiously asked if they could play a system. Another little chicken ripe for the plucking. My father was counting deaths by the million over decades for the life companies. Probabilities and statistics only make sense in the long view. Short-term, youâll find anomalies in all slot machines but, over time, the basic patterns are set in stone and in the Houseâs favor. Youâll see lucky streaks that look like theyâre never going to end. But, so long as the House keeps its nerve, the winner will lose it all back again. Itâs the same with the so-called systems. They aim to build up the small wins to offset the big losses. If youâve the bankroll, you can often win over a session. But youâre obsessional kind, ainât ya? Youâve invested that money in a system. Youâre not going to quit while you’re ahead, are you? Which means that any small winnings you picked up on the good days will all get given back to the casinos on the bad days. Itâs just the way the House edge works. Like I say, you canât beat the math. Which leaves me with my strategy, which Iâll get back to when Iâm good and ready.

Bride Wars: Comedy Down the Aisle
Posted by admin
“If I were your wedding, I would be sleeping with one eye open. . .” - Liv
Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson team up as two best friends in the funny and romantic comedy Bride Wars as powerhouses Emma (Hathaway) and Liv (Hudson) living in New York city, close with one another after years of friendship strengthened by their love of two things: the extravagant Plaza Hotel, and, of course, their weddings.
Liv and Emma seem like typical best friends; they’ve planned their weddings since they were children, and have always loved the idea of getting married at the Plaza Hotel, a desired location for elegant and modern marriages. The two twenty-six-year-old women do almost everything together, and as they see many of their friends begin to marry, are excited to wed themselves and hope that their boyfriends propose.
Although the two are opposites, they’ve managed to stick together over the years. Liv is a completely in control and cool, composed lawyer who tries to have everything ultimately perfect, while Emma does her best to remain calm and collected as a school teacher of a local secondary school, always settling for what she has and never quite able to take risks. (This may seem like a bit unrealistic or a somewhat overused idea to viewers with opposites attracting, but both Hudson and Hathaway do eventually find a way to add more depth to their friendship near the end of the movie.)
Everything seems idealistic when both Liv and Emma are suddenly engaged, just within days of one another due to their surfacing competitive nature withtheir upcoming weddings. Things seem absolutely perfect; they are both able to hire Marion, a famous wedding planner in upper-class New York, to help book their weddings at the Plaza Hotel. Both Liv and Emma have their perfect dates set: the 6th of June for Liv, the same date as her deceased parents’ anniversary, and the 27th of June for Emma.
When a strange mistake occurs and the two women discover their weddings have been accidentally booked on the same date - the 6th - both are, at first, quite levelheaded about the situation they are in, trying to compromise . . . Soon after, things go downhill from there on, and it won’t be long until they two are at war.
Hathaway and Hudson provide many laughs for the audience, portraying their characters well; Hudson is very comedic as a control-freak that has a strange obsession with sweets ( she’s referenced as an “Ex-heifer” by Emma’s co-worker ), and Hathaway shows her usual dynamic and hilarious acting skills when she lets Emma’s wild side break loose and has a wonderful time getting sweet revenge instead of staying on the sidelines.
Bride Wars also has an array of funny and well-casted actors that occasionally give the movie a realistic feel and also serve laughs for viewers. Emma’s fellow teacher, for example, is absolutely hilarious with her oblivious attitude, and her offhand comments are entertaining due to their forwardness and their sarcasm.
Although the movie serves well as a romantic comedy, Bride Wars occasionally fails with providing a stable plot in the movie, and can often get wrapped up in only the silly revenge of the two former best friends. Also, viewers may not be pleased with the typically overused storyline that could seem stale and even ridiculous; the plot of a wedding as the main conflict in a movie can easily be said to be slightly too J. Lo ( think Wedding Planner or Monster-in-Law ) and boring, or flat-out pointless.
Besides the lack of plot, skeptics may easily be wondering: why are these women so desperate to settle down and get married to a man at the young age of 26? Even to the fans of Bride Wars, this does take away from the overall positive view of the film, not including how insanely angered and flat-out crazy with revenge the two brides act throughout much of the film.
Overall, Bride Wars is a cute chick-flick that provides laughs, a few good bits of comedy here and there, and traces of a heartwarming relationship that is timeless between two best friends. Don’t forget to keep in mind when going to see the movie: you won’t have to truly think to process anything, so if intelect is your style, you should either let your mind rest for an hour and a half or see a serious flick like Benjamin Button or Gran Torino.

Dubrovnik- Pearl of the Adriatic
Posted by admin
Dubrovnik is a place of history, wealth and culture, being the arts center of Croatia. Many artists, poets and writers originate from the South Coast, making it one of the most popular resorts on the Mediterranean. Dubrovnik is a resort for the elite, with hosts of celebrities holidaying or buying property there. The beauty of this city with its stretches of harbors and stunning coast line makes visiting this wonderful place a must.
Unfortunately, Dubrovnik was hit hard during bombing of the Montenegrin Navy from 1992-1993. Statistics show that almost a third of Dubrovnikâs buildings were damaged during the war, but by visiting the city you would never have thought it. The city has obviously worked extremely hard in restoring its building. Only if you look very hard can you see spots in the cobbles where a bomb has hit or a gun has been fired. Many people would agree that this only gives the city more character.
You wonât be disappointed in the range of activities Dubrovnik has to offer. A must-see attraction has to be Sponza Palace, one of the original buildings to survive the destructive effects of an earthquake in 1667. The Palace is home to important historical documents and is an extremely interesting visit; its amazing gothic architecture is really worth seeing. Another place you should certainly visit is the Church of St. Ignatius and the Jesuit College. This is a beautiful Baroque Church located on a small hill. The exterior and interior is astonishing, and well worth a look. For those interested in this kind of sightseeing, there are countless Churches and monasteries in Dubrovnik to visit.
If you are lucky enough to visit Dubrovnik in the summer months, make sure you make time to go to Dubrovnik Summer Festival. This festival has run every year since 1950, and occupies most of July and August. The festival includes a mix of musical and theatrical performances, all of high quality. The summer months will be busier than the rest of the year, but the vibrant atmosphere of this festival shouldnât be missed if possible.
Dubrovnik hotels are high in quantity and quality. With hosts of celebrities flocking here for their holidays, there is a high number of 5* hotels in Dubrovnik, perfect to really spoil and indulge yourself. Alternatively, you will be able to find many cheap hotels if you search online.

Stand Up Magic and Comedy
Posted by admin
Funny how these days stand up is associated mostly with comedy. Maybe it’s natural in a sense that stand up comedy has made a major break trough in this new millennium. The word originally means performing for an audience standing up, in front of the audience. It could be a big or small group; the performance is done standing in front of them.
In this way, all performing arts that meet those qualifications are stand up performances. And this is what the word originally means.
I live in Finland and I’m a professional magician. I once got an email from a local comedian who said that I should remove the word “stand up” from web site, because I was a magician not a comedian.
I gave him a small lecture how things are and told him I had been doing stage magic professionally for 15 years and since I had a web site, I have been advertising stand up performances along with close up performances.
Later he apologized, but this phone call actually reflects the way people think these days.
Sometimes I get requests for gigs, where the client asks me to do little close up, then a performance for all and in the end little stand up…
When a word gets branded, it seems to establish a new meaning and people start to take some things for granted.
Of course I tell my customers how things really are, but I have changed some text on my website so that people can more easily understand the difference. I also advertise myself only as a magician; I have a link on my pages that says “stand up” which lead my customers to my stage performance page, but seems many don’t read this page at all, they just understand it the way they have learned it.
Actually for me this isn’t so bad.
I get requests for gigs where the client wants me to do stand up. Well, they understand it as stand up comedy only, but comedy is what I do also. I mix magic and comedy and my performances are actually very funny, so what do I say?
I say nothing; I say perfect, I do it exactly the way you want!
This has happened many times and my clients have never complained, because only thing they are concerned about is getting a performer that does a good job. I am a professional entertainer, so I do a good job - case closed and money in the bank
In this way comedy, being so popular as it is these days, helps me in a way also. Still I feel I am not doing anything wrong and I am not trying to deceive or mislead people in any way on my web site; I let them know exactly what they are getting in detail.
To me stand up is a very logical word to use, because I’m doing close up also. Close up for small groups at a time and stand up for larger audiences.
If we still think about the word, what it originally meant, as I explained before, to me it can mean a thousand different things. Anybody on stage in front of their audience is doing stand up, and I don’t want to complain, looks like it only means more job for anyone who is doing comedy in one form or another.
